The Portsmouth boys travelled to Chichester for their game against Chichester GSD Black. The boys looked enthusiastic in the warm up and Jordan’s pre game dunks really got the team, and the spectators, pumped and excited for the game ahead.
The first quarter started with Jon scoring our first points followed by a steady flow of baskets from all players and a 3 pointer from Adrian. The boys demonstrated some great defensive play, with Chichester only managing to score one basket past our defence, finishing on 2-33.
Quarter two Portsmouth Force kept their defence solid and didn't let offence take priority in this game. This kept the Chichester boys at bay and constantly under pressure whilst Portsmouth continued to dominate finishing the second quarter on 2-53 not letting any further baskets drop.
Quarter three Chichester came out with a bit more energy in a game that seemed almost already over, they put up the best fight they could against the Force earning a further 4 points as quarter three concluded on 6-88.
The boys kept the pace and piled on the pressure and points in quarter four for the final stretch, with a phenomenal 3 pointer from Ethan and the boys pushing for Jordan to finish with a dunk as the last quarter concluded. The game finished on an impressive 10-119.
This was a real morale boost for the team, every player contributed to the points scored, showing great team ethic and skill and all playing their part, including support from those not playing. Chichester GSD, whilst not able to score many points, worked hard and showed great effort from all their players as they never gave up.
